Well, here we are again. Life is back to normal after a busy holiday season. I wish I could say I was very strict with myself about the big family meals and delicious holiday treats, but I’d be lying. I did maintain some control, and did not do too much damage. I also still managed to get my workouts in. All in all, I’m OK with how my first Christmas “in training” went.
Last Week
Since my last update, as promised, I’ve finally made it through enough of the Training Bible to put together a semi-sensible training plan. More importantly, I’m starting to have a much better understanding of how to train properly.
I’m starting to phase indoor biking into my schedule this month, and once that’s worked in it’ll be time to include swimming as well.
Running is still going really well. I managed to beat my previous 5k time by 10 minutes last week. To be fair, my earlier record was from when I had just started and was mostly walking, but I still see it as a good sign of progress.
My weight didn’t budge for this update, but considering the holiday feasts, I’m not complaining.
Weekly Stats
Current Weight: 236 (-28)
Body Fat: Approximately 29% (Yikes!)
Run Distance: 21k
Next Week
As I mentioned, this month is all about phasing in the indoor bike. I know stationary bikes are not ideal, but it’s all I’ve got at the moment so I’ve got to make the best of it.
On the running side, I’m going to continue with my current distance of about 5k for regular workouts. I’m also going to attempt a 10k this week, just to see where I’m at.
